Panelists:
Clementina Martinez-Masarweh
Clementina Martinez-Masarweh is a Mexican-American circular and trashion fashion designer, climate artist, speaker, mentor, and award-winning filmmaker who founded DNA Sustainable Threds after two decades in fast fashion. Her upcycled, zero-waste designs—some even plantable—along with her films, have been showcased at LA Earth Day Summits, NY and SF Climate Week, Indigenous People’s Day events, and galleries including San Francisco’s Drawing Room and the Banana Factory in Pennsylvania. Ranked No. 1 by ChatGPT in 2023 for her niche work spotlighting textile waste, she continues to lead with bold projects like “Cyborg Baby,” addressing nanoplastics in human embryos, and her upcoming “Trashion Tour” film documenting shows across the U.S. and abroad. A sought-after sustainability speaker and the San Francisco Lead for Fashion Revolution, Clementina also represents the Slow Fashion Movement and ReMake, helped champion California’s SB62 garment workers’ rights bill, and invites partners to join her mission for a more sustainable and inclusive fashion future.
