REGISTRATION CLOSES ON APRIL 5.

This 60-minute interactive workshop supports mission-driven professionals who want to transition into climate and sustainability work by helping you recognize the relevance of your existing skills, expand your sense of belonging in the climate movement, and take strategic action toward meaningful roles.

The focus is not only on information about climate careers, but on expanding your confidence, clarity, and agency so you can begin creating opportunities.

You will explore how climate work is evolving across industries and functions, identify transferable skills you already possess, and practice a contribution-based approach to building visibility and creating opportunities.

The workshop will include two breakout sessions.

Workshop Structure

  1. Expanding the Landscape of Climate Work
    • Reframing climate careers as a cross-industry transformation rather than a narrow set of technical roles. You will explore the broader ecosystem of climate solutions and the roles of business, finance, operations, communications, and leadership in driving change — reducing intimidation and opening new possibilities.
  2. Transferable Skills and Identity
    • Through guided reflection and small-group discussion, you will identify how your existing experience aligns with climate solutions and begin shifting from an outsider mindset to a confident contributor perspective.
  3. The Changing Nature of Opportunity
    • An exploration of today’s evolving hiring landscape and why traditional job-search methods may feel limiting. You will learn how strategic thinking and visible contribution create momentum and opportunity.
  4. Contribution-Based Engagement
    • A practical framework for engaging organizations through insight and value — moving beyond traditional informational interviews. You will apply this approach to real organizations of interest.
  5. Integration and Next Steps
    • Clear, practical next steps to translate insight into action.

This workshop is best for:

Early- to mid-career professionals exploring or actively pursuing roles in climate, sustainability, and related impact sectors

You will leave with:

  • Greater clarity about how your skills connect to climate work
  • Increased confidence in your ability to contribute
  • A broader understanding of climate career pathways
  • Practical strategies for building visibility and creating opportunities
  • A stronger sense of belonging within the climate movement
