As federal priorities shift, renewable energy organizations face increasing uncertainty in funding, regulation, and long-term planning. In this first session of our two-part Sustainability Industry Roundtable, we’ll unpack the real-world impacts of these changes and explore how companies are adapting operations and strategies in response.

Through facilitated breakout discussions, members will share challenges, lessons learned, and approaches to navigating program delays, regulatory hurdles, and evolving market conditions. Together, we’ll identify shared patterns, emerging risks, and opportunities for collaboration across the WCS corporate community.

  • Format: 60-minute virtual session with breakout discussions
  • Who should attend: WCS Corporate Member leaders in policy, sustainability, product strategy, or operations
  • Objective: Build collective understanding of how federal retrenchment is reshaping the clean energy landscape and surface peer strategies for resilience.

Participants will have the option to join one of the breakout rooms offered during the event. Each room will focus on a specific topic.

Breakout Room Topics:

Room 1. How Shifting U.S. Energy Policies are Reshaping Renewable Operations and Investments

  • How shifts in U.S. energy policy are influencing renewable operations, long-term sustainability goals, and investment decisions. This room examines operator challenges, adaptation strategies, investor confidence, the role of public-private partnerships, and how innovation can support renewables in an uncertain policy landscape.

Room 2. Resilience over Expansion: Building Local Sustainability in a Retrenching Policy Climate

  • How communities and entrepreneurs can pivot from growth-focused sustainability to resilience-focused innovation. This room explores adaptability, affordability, and community-scale solutions that remain effective even as broader policy momentum slows.
