From forests to food systems to grassroots mobilization, women-led organizations are tackling climate change from the ground up. Join climate leaders for Grounded Futures: Women Driving Climate Action from Soil to Systems, an inspiring virtual discussion exploring how conservation, community action, and innovation intersect to build resilience across ecosystems and societies.

Panelists will share how women farmers, cooperatives, and communities are adapting to climate challenges—from community-maintained water systems to feminist leadership models. The conversation will highlight action leading to global impact: how can funding, policy, and climate startups better support on-the-ground needs?

The session will conclude with an audience Q&A focused on actionable partnerships between innovators and grassroots organizations. Attendees will leave with concrete steps for advancing women-led climate resilience—connecting innovation with community to create a more sustainable and equitable future.

Jenna MacEwen, Executive Director, Water4Life Global

Jenna MacEwen is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Water4Life Guatemala. She earned a Business Management degree from Westfield State University and, after experiencing the challenges of accessing clean water and battling a waterborne parasite, became dedicated to ensuring families have safe water. 

In the past seven years, Jenna has led Water4Life Guatemala in providing clean water access and education to over 35,000 people. Her work includes implementing bio-filtration and waste management systems while empowering Indigenous female leaders to promote health and environmental sustainability.

 

 

 

Helena Mullenbach Martinez, Organizadora Regional de América Latina - Colombia

Helena is a climate justice activist based in Bogotá, Colombia. She is currently an Organizer for Latin America at 350.org. She has also co-founded the Resist Glencore Network, supporting communities across the world that resist mega-mining. Her work has focused on the intersectionalities between climate justice and Palestinian liberation, and other forms of anti-colonial organizing, mainly with grassroots communities.
